Every time I go to this location I find new awesome places to take fun photos. The sunlight today was also just great, streaming through the tree tops.  one year old in radio flyer at minnehaha falls one year old boy photography suspenders minnehaha falls one year old boy photography wearing cap and suspenders minnehaha falls

Oh my gosh! His mom brought along these super darling suspenders and driving cap. Too much fun! Xander was having a pretty good time taking his photos. Look at all the smiles we got. one year old boy professional photography st paul one year old boy with big sister minnehaha falls mn

Of course we needed to take a few with big sister Emmie. I just love this candid shot. As we were taking Xander’s photos, she went around picking wild flowers and just came up and asked him to smell them. How sweet are they? ♥one year old boy in wagon minnehaha falls mn

One of my favorite things to do is to is bum around and take photographs for personal solace. How often do I do this? Ohhh… about next to NEVER. Sad, I know. It’s something I need to work harder at scheduling into my me time a little more often. Recently a friend of mine and I decided to go check out Minnehaha Falls for the afternoon. Now, I’ve been there before. I’ve taken photos there before. But oddly enough it was only in the winter and yes, it was for a client. Unfortunately, this day turned out to be a dreary one. Luckily the rich green tones from the trees really came through but the sky was… blah.

The falls are a site of beauty and mystery combined with sounds of calmness and tranquility. I could have sat by them for hours and never gotten bored. I think it would be fun to visit this area again in the fall time and capture the colors of the leaves with the sun shinning through. Here are a few photos from the day. Nothing too mind blowing but I did manage to capture a moment of that tranquility with the eye of my lens. Just close your eyes and imagine the sounds of the water rushing over the falls. Ahh… my happy place!

Engagement session, in the winter, outside? Say WHAT? Okay, pack those hand warmers! Pack a few extra for the camera batteries. This one is a first, and man… was it COLD outside. All in the name of love. We did this session out at the beautiful frozen Minnehaha Falls. I have had the pleasure of having Karianne as a very good friend of mine since collage and it is a great honor of her to ask me to photograph her engagement photos. All I can say is, Kevin, you are one lucky guy! These two are meant to be. You can even see it in their photos. When they look at each other their eyes sparkle in happiness. I can’t wait till you’re wedding day! We are going to have SO MUCH FUN!
