Such a beautiful wedding, on such a rainy day! Emily is the sister of my good friend, Monica. It was an honor to be able to photograph another special event for this family. Emily picked the most gorgeous wedding colors and added in beautiful succulents; her dress was stunning. The ladies got ready at the St. Paul Hotel while the boys hung out at Hermes Haberdashery. If you haven’t checked out Hermes, I highly recommend. Great service and a super cute shop. The wedding took place at Irving Park, quite picturesque, and finished up at the Science Museum. I had a wonderful time. Hopefully I’ll get to photograph some more Hecklinger siblings in the future! bride and groom at st paul library mn beautiful wedding couple in lowertown allies st paul mn Bride and groom outside St Paul Hotel in Garden Kissing beautiful bride outside st paul public library mn Bride and groom outside st paul public library mn bridal party wedding at Irvine Park St Paul MN Wedding party in lowertown st paul mn breaker

This was a wedding day that I will not soon forget! Brian and Lucy are so perfect for each other. I love when I get to work with couples who just really fit so perfectly together it’s indescribable. Lucy is… pure elegance. She has a smile and laugh that can light up an entire room. The two of them made my job too easy! But just to make sure I stayed on my toes… a TORNADO did venture into our evening. This was my first, and hopefully last wedding where we had to evacuate to shelter. However, sure did make for some fun outdoor photos!

Our endevors took place in New York City Mills, MN. This was my first adventure to the small town. Upon arrival, I jumped up and down to my assistant that we just must use the old mill factory in the town. How unique would that be! The park that Lucy and Brian picked for the formal photos was absolutely perfect. We had a gorgeous day that included my favorite, puffy clouds!!! Thank you for including us in your special day guys, it was truly amazing!

Special thanks to my amazing assistant Jillian Bell, whom I couldn’t have kept my head straight without!

Today we went out to a little bench in Cottage Grove by her parents house. This is an example that you really can do portraits just about anywhere. I brought along a porcelain tea set and we had tea for a while. What little girl doesn’t love that? Then we walked around around the grassy area and picked some while flowers. It was a lovely day with a little breeze. After our day in the grass we headed back to Mom and Dad’s for a birthday cupcake! Terra’s favorite part! How precious is that smile? Happy Birthday sweet girl. 🙂

We took Daevon to Central Park in Roseville for a few snap shots. It didn’t take him too long to find the water fountain and get himself all wet! This is a hard age to photograph. Lots of running around. Little guys are so curious that they want to run all over the place. They don’t want to stop and have their picture taken. All in all, I think we got a couple of cute ones. 🙂

Paris is defiantly the city of love. Everything I caught with my camera lens showed how romantic it is there. It was one of the most fun places I’ve ever been to take photos. I was lucky enough to go on this trip because my Thai brother, Cake, was living in Paris for while. It was really interesting getting to see the city through his eyes. Cake has a great love for good food and we ate very very well. Or at least the kind of well that I like. Healthy with a lot of flavor. There are dishes I ate in Paris that I can still instantly remember how they tasted when I think of them they were so amazing. One fun thing about this trip is that Cake likes to take pictures too! So that meant he gave me lots of opportunities to photograph things and encouraged us to do activities souly based on their photographic awesomeness factor. Very beneficial for me and very rarely happens.
I think the one thing I will remember most about Paris is the first time I saw the Eiffel Tower. We were taking the subway escalator up and as we stepped off I looked to my left and right there in front of me was one of the most enormous yet beautiful structures I have ever seen in my entire life. I was in aww of it. I could have stood there for hours and have not gotten bored. I’d be willing to stop back in Paris for a day just to spend another hour in front of her one last time.
One of the mornings, Cake and I stood in line for a few hours so that we could climb to the bell towers of Notre Dame and be in the presence of the gargoyles. They were beautiful creatures. However, 400 steps up a very windy staircase were you can’t stop and rest and 400 steps back down. I was so afraid of tripping on my way down I was stressing my muscles and by the time we got to the bottle my legs were so shaky they practically gave way. Afterwards I was able to catch the Sunday morning Catholic mass at Notre Dame. (which is one of my favorite things, I know of the words by memory.) I was in the second row! Why? Parisians apparently don’t seem to go to church so the place was empty! What an opportunity. I will never forget it. One more thing we did was tour the catacombs which are now closed off to the public. They were very cool! And I did make sure to touch a few human skulls along the way! 🙂
Down side to Paris? The people, yeah, they are just as rude as everyone says they are. But what really got to me was the smell. It was the smelliest place I have EVER been in my life. I won’t go into detail but it was weird walking by a woman who looked like she just stepped out of the cover of Voge magazine and then having her smell like BO mixed with the scent of what I would consider the epitome of French whore strength perfume. Just not right!
I do think that someday I’d like to visit this city again, but only with a man I love. I think it truly would seem like a different place when you aren’t wandering the streets of epic romance by yourself.

I am so lucky that my job is to hang out with people on one of the most important and exciting days of their lives. I feel very blessed. Working with Karianne and Kevin was so amazing! They had an out door wedding at the beautiful Mississippi Dunes Golf Course in Cottage Grove. The day went absolutely perfect. I am not always so lucky to get to work with such photographic couples but these two were so great that I ended up with so many awesome images it was hard to pick what to put in their album!

A beautiful warm spring April 1st day. What a perfect day for a wedding! And no better way to spend my day than to assist for my favorite wedding photography, Luke Nygaard. I was able to sneak in a few fun shots through out the day that I thought I’d post on here. I really love getting the opportunity to see the techniques that other photographers use when they shoot. No matter how much you think you know, there is always so much you can gain by watching and learning from your peers. I am truly blessed that I am surrounded by so many talented artists who take the time to share their techniques.

I’m pretty sure I’ve not been to a wedding that was this much fun in my ENTIRE LIFE! Justin, Tisa and their guests sure know how to have one heck of a good time! I loved the location they chose for their formal photos: Central Park in Roseville. So full of color and character. Equipped with gazebo and and beautiful water fountain. Pair that with a beautiful sunset, and what more could a photographer ask for? They turned out amazing! Justin and Tisa are one of the sweetest and sexiest (oh yes I said it) wedding couples I’ve ever worked with and it glows in all of their photos. What an amazing day you guys! I am honored to have been a part of it, you two are the best!

Special thanks to my assistant Luke Nygaard from Nygaard Photography. You always make life one gigantic step easier!

I just love this quick little moment that was right before the bride walked down the isle, we caught her Dad giving her one last kiss. Awww 🙂

Isn’t that the best group of ladies you’ve ever seen? Even better? Almost all of them are sisters! So much fun!

Now this is one classy photo which is quite fitting for this this group of studs.

If you haven’t been out to central park before, the gazebo is stunning!

I absolutly LOVE these last two photos! Their magazine images… aren’t these two love birds perfection?
